FAQ

Can we change after the banquet?
Yes! We have a few rules to follow to be able to change.
- You must have your name tag with you at the banquet. Your name tag serves as your pass to go back to the hotel room. You will leave it with the designated adults at the hotel entrance, then pick up your name tag when you return back to the conference center.
- You must return to the convention center by 8:30PM. Delegates who attend the SEDAT meeting will have extra time to change without penalty.
- Clothing chosen for the evening must still fall within our acceptable dress code.
What is the dress code?
Wednesday- Snappy Casual
- Jeans without holes, slacks, capris, skirts, dresses
- Shirts with a collar, blouses or a t-shirt without a slogan
- Casual shoes, nice tennis shoes, or boots
Thursday day time activities- TLC T-Shirt Day
As we will be participating in service activities, delegates may wear items that are more appropriate for movement and potentially getting dirty. This includes:
- Appropriate length jeans, shorts, athletic pants or athletic shorts
- Teen Leadership Conference T-Shirts
- Comfortable shoes (slides or flip flops will not be appropriate for service activities)
Thursday evening banquet- Dress Wear
- Shirt with collar and tie, and slacks
- Nice dresses or coordinated separates.
- Dress shoes or boots
Fashion rules to consider: Denim is not considered Dress Wear appropriate. For banquet dress wear, dresses/skirts should be at least fingertip length due to the professional nature of the event. A good rule of thumb for shirts is a width of three fingers, and backless garments should be avoided.
Thursday dance- Snappy Casual
- Jeans without holes, slacks, capris, appropriate length skirts or dresses
- Shirts with a collar, blouses or a t-shirt without a slogan
- Casual shoes, nice tennis shoes, or boots
Casual Wear – Friday morning:
- Appropriate length shorts, capris or jeans
- Appropriate t-shirts, shirts, or blouses
- Casual shoes, nice tennis shoes or boots
What is county caucus?
A caucus is a type of meeting among similarly minded people that's focus is to select who to vote for. At TLC, your caucus group is your county. At the county caucus, you will:
- Respectfully share your thoughts about each candidate running for office.
- Conversations at county caucus should remain confidential.
- Each county with two or more teens attending TLC have two voting delegates who will cast the vote. Your county will work together to determine how those votes are cast.
